Elling E3 long-range motor yacht underway

Elling Yachts USA/Elling E3

The compact ocean explorer

Elling E3

Serious passagemaking, distilled to 45 feet.

The Elling E3 carries the core E-Series philosophy into its most compact form: Category A offshore construction, a low center of gravity, exceptional insulation and flexible three-cabin living.

E3 overview

Built for the voyage you keep imagining.

Created for owners who want true offshore confidence without giving up easy handling, the E3 is equally at home on the Great Loop, in the Bahamas or making longer open-water passages. Its shallow draft and electrically lowering mast open routes that are closed to many conventional passagemakers.

Inside, the elevated wheelhouse, bright lower saloon and full-beam aft owner's cabin make the E3 feel considerably larger than its length suggests. A single main engine keeps weight low and maintenance straightforward, while an optional independent wing engine adds genuine get-home redundancy.

Why the E3

Capability you can feel—not just read about.

01

Ocean-category confidence

Category A construction, a low center of gravity and the self-righting E-Series design philosophy are built into the yacht from the start.

02

Go where taller yachts cannot

A 4 ft draft and electrically lowering mast suit the Intracoastal Waterway, Great Loop, European canals and island cruising.

03

Quiet by engineering

Aquadrive propulsion, soft engine mounts, a deeply insulated engine room and Kevlar reinforcement reduce noise and vibration.

04

Real redundancy

The optional auxiliary diesel has its own fuel supply, saildrive and folding propeller—a genuinely independent way home.

05

Year-round comfort

Double glazing, an insulated wheelhouse, central heating and available reverse-cycle air conditioning extend the cruising season.

06

Owner-operated

Bow and stern thrusters, excellent visibility and accessible machinery make the E3 practical for a cruising couple.

Performance & propulsion

Efficient when you want range. Responsive when time matters.

Single-shaft main propulsion keeps the machinery layout clean and the center of gravity low.

Current engine choices can include Volvo Penta and Cummins packages from economical displacement power to approximately 20-knot performance.

Aquadrive absorbs propeller thrust independently of the engine and permits very soft engine mounts for lower vibration.

Optional 30 hp auxiliary diesel uses a separate tank, saildrive and folding propeller.

Life aboard

A proper home, arranged for life underway.

Elevated wheelhouse

Panoramic visibility, a leather helm seat, curved companion seating and a watertight electric sunroof create a secure all-weather command center.

Lower saloon and galley

A bright social space with curved settee, dining table and pop-up television sits beside a separate full-size galley with generous Corian work surfaces.

Owner's stateroom

The quiet full-beam aft cabin places the owner's berth near the yacht's center of motion, with wardrobe and under-berth storage.

Flexible guest spaces

Choose twin berths, a double-and-settee arrangement forward, plus a side cabin configured as bunks, office or finished storage.

Layout flexibility

Made around the way you cruise.

  • Forward cabin with two single berths
  • Forward double berth with settee
  • Side cabin with two berths
  • Side office converting to a single berth
  • One full bathroom as standard; second bathroom available
